International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March 2024, Samta Gramin Vikas organized a one-day seminar on the topic "Role of domestic women in social upliftment" in Samta Auditorium, RajendragramDurgasthan Katihar. The seminar was chaired by Mrs. Rupa Devi. The stage was conducted by Ms. Garima Bharti. The inauguration was done by lighting the lamp by Dr. Shashi Kiran, Mrs. Gunja Kumari and others. Gunja Kumari delivered the welcome address. The chief speaker Mrs. Usha Kumari said that my mother herself is a housewife, she made me and my brother government servants by educating us and taught the lesson of creating a good social environment by giving good education and knowledge. Despite being a government servant, I am interested in social work, this is the gift of my mother. Praising her mother, Dr. Shashi Kiran said that my mother, being a housewife, did all the household chores and made me a doctor and my sister a teacher. She taught us the lesson of social service, perhaps that is why we are able to participate enthusiastically in the work of building society. Mrs. Prabha Devi said that housewives have a greater role to play in building society than working women. Mrs. Kanchan Priya told about the role of women in building society by singing a song. Mrs. Gunja Kumari said that organizing such an event is a unique initiative for women and giving them respect is a good initiative. I thank Samta Gramin Vikas for such work. In her presidential speech, Mrs. Roopa Devi said that I myself am a housewife, my mother-in-law was a housewife, but my mother-in-law educated all her children and made them capable citizens and good human beings. I myself was influenced by her and made my children capable. I have experienced that housewives have a huge responsibility, making breakfast etc. for the husband to go to work, preparing children for school, cleaning the house and courtyard, cooking food, in the village, one has to walk on an average 16 kilometres per day to go from the kitchen to the purbi and pachhiyari house. Despite all this, it is the responsibility of the housewives to keep an eye on the good and bad deeds in the village and to scold the children for wrong deeds and educate them. Looking at the rural environment, we can say that housewives play an important role in the upliftment of society. Housewives should get equal respect as working women. In his address, Secretary of Samta Gramin Vikas, Mr. Kishor Kumar Mandal said that the biggest influence in my life is my mother. First my mother and now my wife have contributed significantly in my progress. Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Ashish Anand, Manoj Kumar Mandal, etc. The gathering was addressed. The program was made successful by the presence above hundreds of women.
